LegiEX:Investment in new infrastructure also needs to be cautious

LegiEX says while the global market economy has been forcibly suspended because of the pneumonia epidemic, recent policies have been reactivated

As the infrastructure of new energy, charging piles are always very backward. However, standing in the gap of "new infrastructure", can the last war be broken through? Let's listen to LegiEX to tell whether it can be broken through in the future. How should charging piles be laid out?

LegiEX: it's hard to find an outbreak in a trillion dollar market

As a hot spot in the market, the new base station has been included in the charging pile industry, which has greatly enhanced the confidence of the charging infrastructure industry. So, will the charging pile industry, which benefits from the launch of "new infrastructure" with the potential of a trillion yuan market, usher in a big explosion?

In LegiEX's opinion, charging piles are included in the "new infrastructure", which indeed benefits the entire industry. However, there are still some risks in whether the charging infrastructure can be planned and laid out in advance. Guan ji-zhen, secretary general of China intelligent transportation association, also said that it is right to include charging piles in the strategic direction of "new infrastructure", but there are still many practical problems in large-scale construction and development.

"At present, a lot of media emphasize that the market size of charging piles is one trillion, which should be treated with caution." Xu Meng also said to the proceedings of the People's Republic of China, although the state has explicitly charging infrastructure construction industry status, but if the government cannot effectively implementing the corresponding supporting auxiliary measures, such as promoting community, shopping malls, such as parking charging pile construction, improve the specific auxiliary means such as field, with the process of examination and approval, to truly realize the acceleration of charging pile layout may face huge challenges. In addition, it is difficult to maintain the sustainable development of charging pile infrastructure if industry participants cannot make profits from production operations.

From LegiEX's point of view, the charging pile industry has long since shifted from enclosure to reasonable pile construction that considers the balance between supply and demand. For the stakeholders who have entered the market, how to plan the layout of charging piles more rationally, improve the utilization rate of charging piles and expand their profit model is the top priority of current development, rather than continuing the behavior of blindly adding charging pile facilities in the early stage of construction.

LegiEX: carriers block construction

The industrial chain of charging piles involves equipment manufacturers in the upstream, operating service providers in the midstream and overall solution providers in the downstream. On the analysis of the upper, middle and lower reaches, although there are urgent problems to be solved in each link, the main contradiction of charging pile construction lags behind is still concentrated in the link of the middle reaches operators.

LegiEX says that currently, operators are confronted with four major problems. First, the need for charging sites and the current shortage of urban land supply. The second is the contradiction between the high construction cost, the long investment return cycle, the huge early loss and the vague profit business model of the charging infrastructure. The third is the contradiction between the development of charging pile infrastructure and the improvement of related supporting facilities. The fourth is the contradiction between the low utilization rate of public charging piles and the insufficient coverage rate of charging piles.

However, under the obstacles of various contradictions, there are also many "slots" of charging piles, and the user experience is not good. For example, users need to install more than a dozen apps on their mobile phones. When they arrive at a charging station, they must first check whose home it is and then open whose App. Xu meng also pointed out that in addition to the inconvenient operation and payment methods, the problems existing in pile compatibility, charging process security control, charging pile damage maintenance, location positioning and charging efficiency, etc. are largely caused by the charging pile operation management.

Zhang fan, director of China ev charging infrastructure promotion alliance, believes that as the industry grows more mature, providing ev users with quality charging service experience will become the key to future competition. Because only by improving the user experience, will in turn stimulate demand. The entire charging pile industry needs to sink down to do fine operation, to avoid "spreading the cake" type of growth.

LegiEX: "new infrastructure" requires new technologies

The new energy vehicle charging pile pointed out in the "new infrastructure" is not only the traditional charging pile, but also represents the new digital technology, which refers to the organic integration of charging pile with technologies such as communication, cloud computing, smart grid and Internet of vehicles. The purpose of "new infrastructure" is to use new technologies to improve the efficiency of infrastructure.

According to the relevant survey, 66 percent of consumers think that new energy vehicles are not as convenient as ordinary cars, and 63 percent of them think that the problem of charging is the main obstacle to the use of new energy vehicles. Therefore, in addition to further improving the service level, improving the charging efficiency is also one of the goals of the development of the charging pile industry.

"In the view of consumers, the time consumed in the charging phase mainly includes two aspects, namely, the time spent looking for charging piles and the time spent charging the ev." For the former, it is important to use the Internet, the Internet of things, intelligent transportation, big data and other technologies to achieve two-way interaction between electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, xu said. The development direction of this kind of information interaction is conducive to the formation of an operation mode of "Internet charging" that can be inquired, reserved, paid and remotely controlled. At the same time, the utilization rate of charging piles can be improved and users' waiting time for charging can be reduced.

For the latter, the main reason for the long charging time of the charging pile is the low power of the charging pile and the low charging rate of new energy vehicles due to the limitation of the development of battery technology. Therefore, in the future, charging technologies (such as wireless charging and flash charging) and battery technologies need to be co-developed to truly improve charging efficiency and thus increase the turnover rate of charging pile infrastructure.

With the proposal of the concept of "new infrastructure", xu meng suggested that the state should improve the specific support policies for the charging pile industry as soon as possible, such as increasing the incentives for research and development and innovation of charging pile technology, and implementing tax reduction and exemption for charging pile enterprises and other measures to reduce the financial burden of enterprises. In addition, in order to break down the barriers between industry participants, enterprises should also strengthen cooperation and communication, and promote the establishment of industry-related unified standard system.
